5-star beachfront resort on one of Africa's best beaches

      Accommodations & Grounds

Zuri Zanzibar Hotel Kendwa offers private villas and bungalows set within vast tropical gardens, with an architectural design that resembles a traditional African village. The property has its own Spice Garden where indigenous plants and spices are organically grown, and guests can join a guided tour each morning at no extra cost. Each unit comes with a seating area, and some bungalows feature pool views or garden views, while all include a private bathroom and air conditioning.

      Dining

The resort has three restaurants and four bars, including Maischa Restaurant which specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine, and the Bahari beach bar for light bites and cocktails. Guests can enjoy a beach barbecue dinner with live saxophone music, and the breakfast buffet is served at the main restaurant with a cold room for fruits, cheeses, and desserts. The culinary team, led by Executive Chef Beral Polekironi, prepares dishes using fresh local ingredients and offers themed nights such as Indian Night.

      Wellness & Activities

Zuri Zanzibar runs a Holistic Wellbeing Journey program tailored to guest wellness, with daily yoga and meditation classes held in an open-air pavilion overlooking the gardens. The resort has an outdoor fitness space amidst tropical greenery, a spa offering body treatments, massages, manicures, and pedicures, plus a Jacuzzi deck with sunbeds. Water sports such as snorkelling, canoeing, and diving are available on site, and guests can also join cooking classes or tours about local culture.

      Beach & Location

The hotel sits on Kendwa Beach, which is known as one of the best beaches in Africa and has minimal tidal changes, allowing swimming throughout the day. A private beach area is reserved exclusively for guests, with security to keep the area free from vendors, and the turquoise water is clear enough to see starfish near the shore. Nearby attractions include Nungwi Beach, Stone Town, and coral reefs for snorkelling, with the resort offering shuttle service and airport transfers.

      Sustainability & Awards

Zuri Zanzibar holds EarthCheck Gold Certification, reflecting comprehensive sustainability practices integrated into resort operations, including energy and water conservation.
